Greater Michigan Chapter, ACI - Concrete Scholarship
Any Junior or Senior engineering/technical student enrolled in one of the below
listed schools emphasizing concrete or masonry design, construction or materials
may apply for this award. Based upon the application, submitted essay, and
professional recommendations, the Greater Michigan Chapter ACI will select a
Scholarship recipient who demonstrates the strongest combination of interest and
ability to work in a concrete-related field.  The Scholarship consists of a $2,000 (U.
S. funds) cash award to be deposited into the student’s university account prior to
commencement of the Fall term of their Junior or Senior year.

Selection Criteria
The applicant shall meet the following criteria, and shall submit or provide the
following information:

1. The applicant must be a full-time student for the academic year in which
the Scholarship is used.
2. The applicant must be a resident of the state of Michigan or Essex County,
Ontario.
3. At the time the Scholarship award is deposited into the student’s account
(but not necessarily at the time of application), the applicant must have
attained Junior or Senior status at one of the above-named schools.
4. The applicant shall submit a transcript of college credits and at least two
letters of recommendation from faculty members or former/current
employers.  At least one such recommendation must be from a faculty
member.  The letters should comment applicant.  Each letter of
recommendation shall be returned directly to the Greater Michigan
Chapter ACI by the evaluator.  Recommendations forwarded by the
applicant will not be accepted.
5. Applicants are to complete and return the application by March 31, 2006.  
The application and essay must be typed.
6. The Greater Michigan Chapter ACI will announce their decision by May 1,
2006.
