ACI Greater Michigan Chapter
The ACI Greater Michigan Chapter and our meeting sponsor, Mapei, invite you to join us on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, for a look at the Panama Canal – Third set of locks project. The night will include an overview of the Panama Canal expansion project that was started in 2007 and will be officially open to shipping traffic by April 2016. It will also cover some of the technical concrete specifications and the challenges faced with working with concrete in tropical climates.
Claudio Genoria – is a geologist by education and is 44 years old. After graduation he started his career as a site geologist at a major tunneling site (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bologna%E2%80%93Florence_high-speed_railway), then switched to the concrete industry in 2002 as Technical Manager with an Italian RMC group. He has been working with Mapei since 2010 in business development in the field of concrete admixtures. He has been developing Mapei business and growth in several markets all over the world, including major sites where they are the main admixture supplier such as the Panama Canal extension, Gibe III and GERDP hydroelectrical projects in Ethiopia, the high speed railway Tlelat Tlemcen construction in Algeria, the Tokwe Mukorsi dam in Zimbabwe.
